The AYSES 91 Gold team repeat as State Cup Champions by defeating a strong Andromeda 91 team on Mother’s Day at Richland College. The win completed an undefeated run through the grueling State Cup Tournament by the AYSES 91s, who conceded only 2 goals throughout the six game run.
The 91s won the game by playing classsic AYSES style soccer. The game was a scoreless tie after 80 minutes, with neither team able to capitalize on numerous quality scoring chances. The teams played two 15-minute overtime periods, with the AYSES tallying one goal in both periods to finish with a hard-fought 2-0 victory.
The 91 Gold will now represent North Texas in the Regionals in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in late June of this year as the state champions.
